Courtyard Atlanta Duluth: An Honest Take
So, if you’re looking around at places in the Duluth area near Atlanta, then you’ve probably seen the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Duluth/Gwinnett Place. Basically, with hotels, it’s tricky, right? Actually, you want to find a good spot without all the fuss. Here’s what I actually thought, like really thought, about my stay there, keeping things as real as I possibly could. Now, if you are looking to book the stay then have a look at these hotel deals in Duluth.
Location, Location, Location: Is It the Right Spot?
Gwinnett Place is kinda the name of the neighborhood there, and that area is, in a way, pretty accessible. Of course, the hotel is close to a bunch of businesses, very useful maybe if you’re here for work, yet, if you’re wanting that tourist experience, downtown Atlanta is maybe a bit further out than one would like; pretty much it is a drive. As a matter of fact, the mall close by isn’t what it once was; though there are plans for revitalization so, arguably, it will attract more crowd local restaurants for you to try. Though it doesn’t seem walkable that much, you should consider some public transit as an alternative solution.
First Impressions & Overall Vibe
Walking into the Courtyard Atlanta Duluth is like, you know, stepping into one of those hotels that’s kept rather well up, but you notice just a bit of wear here and there, like anywhere, actually. The lobby is alright, neat and practical, with some areas to relax or get some work done – so pretty much if you needed that. Actually, the people working there, at least those I spoke with, were rather nice and ready to help which, really, does mean a lot when you are travelling, right? The Rooms: Comfort and Amenities
The rooms themselves, these were fine, that is what I mean. You know, it looks like the usual type of hotel room. The bed was OK, like fine for resting after a long day, and having a TV plus internet did kinda make chilling in the evenings much easier – yet maybe a cozy couch could have enhanced it that little bit. So, really if you plan to actually work there; the desk is fine. You will be able to take some work calls. The bathroom too is quite decent, it’s more than enough, really – standard hotel amenities, but overall well-maintained. There is some wear and tear in places.
Food & Drink: What’s on Offer?
Basically, the Bistro is where they have their eats and drinks. I actually grabbed some breakfast there one morning, which was alright. What I mean is there were enough options for a pretty quick meal. So, like, it’s not a full restaurant vibe, so you would not sit there all night, really – however it serves its purpose, for real. Actually, for proper meals, you will find choices a little drive away, such as different spots on Pleasant Hill Road which is closer than going into downtown Atlanta and should appeal to the hungry person; that is restaurants near Gwinnett after all.
Other Hotel Features
They do, too it’s almost, have that standard set of extras, so the pool and the fitness center. So really, after a long day, taking a little swim is amazing, and if you just want to do some cardio, there are treadmills. Plus, that little area they show for business-related tasks comes in rather handy, too it’s almost, if one has something or other like that to complete quickly. Parking seemed pretty abundant as I noticed, and as well, free, which is generally a good bonus because costs can stack up otherwise essential amenities.
Final Thoughts: Who Is This Hotel Best For?
This Courtyard is in some respects a very balanced place. Usually, this will do if you’re alright with something without the fancy extras, right? Like it works okay in the case that your work means spending more time in and around the Duluth area than actually exploring downtown Atlanta. What I mean is: pretty fine, though you want a super fancy type place. Consider that business travel in Gwinnett could be easier in this area, overall.
