Boston Weekend: Top 5 Fun Things To Do This Week
Stroll Through Historic Boston Harbor
When you’re wondering what to do, the Boston Harborwalk might be the right spot for a great stroll; actually, it’s this super cool, almost forty-plus mile path that’s right by the water. What it does is hug the entire shoreline, just about, of Boston. When you’re there, you could see all sorts of things. Basically, you’ll see parks that are carefully planned. Find lovely places to visit, and even spots where events occur. Also, you could stop to look at art that changes from time to time. The path basically stretches from East Boston all the way down to the Neponset River. Plus, there are spots all the way where you could get food. It’s almost like a big outdoor feast!
On a sunny day, there’s nearly nothing better than wandering along the Harborwalk, and basically what you’ll get are some totally stunning views of the harbor; you will almost definitely want to take a snapshot. There are lots of benches around, too it’s almost like, so, you could take breaks and just enjoy things; that sounds kind of good, doesn’t it? It might be the kind of activity that you want to do alone; basically, that could clear your head a bit. On the other hand, you may want to bring friends! When I last took this path, I actually watched a street performer do unbelievable tricks with what looked like bowling pins!
Visit the Museum of Fine Arts
Want a chill day? It’s nice, then, to think about the Museum of Fine Arts, almost like “the MFA.” Arguably, it’s where what might be one of the most interesting collections of art can be viewed; really, the collection is almost completely breathtaking! So, they hold all types of art, right from what may be ancient Egyptian sculptures; basically, very old and very cool art from across the sea, almost, all the way up to pretty contemporary paintings; so paintings maybe from the past twenty years or so. It could be your chance to see something pretty remarkable. It sounds lovely, that is, a visit.
If you go on a weekend, there could be something very special going on. Sometimes they host events. What those events do is show you even more deeply why art is what it is. And if you’re thinking, like your wallet won’t survive, that may be why they have certain days where it doesn’t cost anything to walk in. It’s definitely a good thought. They could give you museum guides to tour specific parts; usually, that helps. Plus, there’s, as a matter of fact, a pretty well known cafeteria. It could give you the opportunity to sit down for a few and chat about what you’re viewing, or did view. It could definitely turn your weekend all the way around.
Catch a Game at Fenway Park
It wouldn’t hurt to make plans to view a baseball game. So, you might just make that game at Fenway Park. Some say it’s this super old, classic spot. It’s basically where you could watch the Red Sox knock it out. Anyway, seeing a game is exciting. As I was saying, Fenway Park really means something to a lot of folks. You have a shot at high-fiving someone. There are vendors. They pass out, pretty regularly, cold sodas, ice cream, stuff that kids very much crave when it’s sunny and hot. Usually the fans are wild. They care quite a bit. The only problem? What you may find is parking that’s difficult. And food that really runs the gamut.
You could usually view walking tours there too, like your team’s not playing. So, there may just be some real, true, super knowledgeable person who loves baseball history, so he takes people on it almost daily, even if the team’s travelling. When my friend Steve attended, I remember him stating, definitely, that there could have been better seating. What I suggest, then, is you do your research, or that what you might be better off doing is going, actually, just to say you did. Very possibly, the feeling that hangs in that old stadium will change you forever. It’s just about almost 115 years old! Plan baseball tours.
Explore the Freedom Trail
Arguably, this could bring you straight back to history! I mean, what you could explore is what’s known as the Freedom Trail. Anyway, you could simply walk, usually, down the red-bricked path. Very certainly, it winds all through a handful of, potentially, truly historical spots. What might bring you to tears are the spots of big moments. Maybe a war! It’s also got stories about who really started our country.
Basically, what you’re thinking about is a 2.5 mile walk. Anyway, it’s gonna just fill your mind with information about stuff that literally did go on back in colonial days! On the other hand, you might think a super long walk may not be your speed. Hire the best walking tours. In fact, they have shorter tours you can take! In some respects, the Park Rangers literally know a lot about how to make sure it makes perfect sense to, potentially, your kids. Just like the ballpark, this spot does attract tourist folk. That probably is because, literally, it’s something folks did learn about, really, way, way, way back in fifth grade!
Relax in the Boston Public Garden
Okay, so if things are a bit crazy, there really does happen to be this calm, cool outdoor space! Almost as if it were plucked straight from the movies. Basically, that place goes by the title, Boston Public Garden. Or maybe, people are saying the, “BPG”. If you literally are looking for somewhere kinda lovely, very like the parks of those places over in the, what, the United Kingdom, so what happens is the green almost feels manicured in a slightly different way! Basically, what they’ve done is design a landscape where there’s what is nearly perfect grass, tons of old cool trees, so it basically looks completely unlike a random scattering of wild vegetation.
Actually, you may notice you could almost slide, seemingly safely, through the pond; this does require money. Also, kids scream there! I believe there may just even be someone who drives it around. Basically, what you get, with that, might just be a completely new view of things; arguably from almost inside the pond! Very certainly, you might want to also watch, for that spot that attracts others too it’s almost like it draws them from other spaces; that really can be called, like your swan boats, what just float smoothly and safely; there just so happens to be folks, possibly your family, who all basically pile right into those! So, you may wish to also think to pause; this is to watch out for some of these ducks that waddle very calmly right through it all, too it’s almost as if the park’s really a part of their, like your very normal, very calm lives! That basically does remind all to stay right here! As a matter of fact, bring a bag of chips; ducks adore them, arguably! There may, possibly, also just be one or two turtles right inside the BPG. Anyway, enjoy that park! As I was saying, you can plan awesome garden walks and explore all it offers.
