Thinking about visiting Boston in August? Well, that’s pretty smart, because the city really comes alive then. The weather is just warm enough, not scorching or anything, making it perfect for exploring all those amazing sights. Crowds might be a bit larger, it’s true, so you know, booking things in advance can really save the day.

1. Fenway Park: Catch a Game and Soak in the History

Fenway Park august

Look, even if baseball isn’t your top thing, heading over to Fenway Park really is special. There’s just a feel, like it’s packed with loads of baseball memories and maybe some other stuff, too. Games in August, that is, they can get very lively, that’s so true, and you can, like, really feel the energy of the crowd. To see a game there and just kind of take it all in? It’s something else, almost a must if you’re stopping by Boston for even a little bit. Plus, that famous Green Monster, you know that super high wall in left field? Seeing it in person could just blow your mind. Maybe book a tour of the stadium as well? That could totally make for some great stories, for sure, about this iconic place; to plan a guided tour will show you stuff you wouldn’t normally see, too.

There’s food, I mean tasty things to munch on, of course, too, it’s almost a proper feast. We all know you could always get your standard hot dog and peanuts, but nowadays, so they have all different, very awesome choices to fill you up, and the crowd just loves it, almost everyone. If you want to hang out before the game or after, and trust me, it’s quite a fun thing to do, then there are loads of sport pubs a hop, skip and jump away, really close. Now to get a seat there, it is very, very smart, because it is pretty vital that you reserve it sooner rather than later, that is certainly my own belief.

2. Freedom Trail: Walk Through American History

Freedom Trail boston august

Want to actually get to see history? Right, well the Freedom Trail it is, then. You can actually trot, yeah I did say trot, along this path, that’s kind of cool, and see like sixteen, just so many important places linked to the American Revolution; it might be what you are looking for. Starting from Boston Common and ending at the USS Constitution, that old warship, it winds, it snakes a bit, I would say, via places like the Park Street Church and the Paul Revere House, and several other cool stops. To give you some real inside info; lots of people will say the Granary Burying Ground, yeah that’s the name, is almost a must to go to; many important people are buried there, and when I mean important, so I really mean it; folk who helped begin the USA are there, no less.

To amble it you can certainly amble at your own rhythm, almost slowly to just pause a beat or two, so maybe to take it all in, you see. To just go ahead solo with your map and pamphlet that, is fine; I mean really, it is ok, you know; still, loads of folk do like the added little bits you get from being with a guide, you could find one I hope. These guides, some folk just love guided tours, you understand, you see, might just be your glass of milk. If you go when it’s good and hot, well you may have to bring some drink, as you have been warned, or a thing to fend the sun, that way the fun would just stay right up at a level which would do the trick.

3. Boston Public Garden: Relax and Enjoy Nature

Boston Public Garden august

Like to relax in some open land? Then the Boston Public Garden might just do the trick. Located near the city center, actually, it’s got just some beautiful spots, yeah loads. Now the swan boats, they’re famous. I can’t say why they use the name Swan for a start! A little tour around the pond there, it can actually seem dreamy and soft for many I’m very sure. Paths twist, you know twist around pretty gardens, very elegant trees, very graceful ones at that, a sweet bit away from city humdrum. Maybe stretch out your back with a walk there and take in some peace. I think you might just like swan boats rides, do you think that that is it?

To just plonk yourself there to read a booklet or munch a lunch; so, it might be just right, who knows? August days do get good and hot, which has been discussed; thus to chill in the grass just might do you wonders. Keep a good watch for art which hides in and outside the gardens, you almost see bits made by notable people there. Well that will happen, because it is very lovely for an outdoor stop off.

4. Museum of Fine Arts: Explore Art from Around the Globe

Museum of Fine Arts Boston august

The Museum of Fine Arts; ah yes, maybe that rings a loud gong for you, hmmm? Just think about, almost a trip all over mother earth; bits from everywhere are there. Parts from early old days, maybe that grabs you, yeah? Parts from the modern guys; really a lot. In some respects, that’s rather neat I feel. Loads of it really; yeah, there’s gobs and gobs, you can see paintings and ancient parts. From very far away it is there and there from where folk had hard old days back when, really long, long ago now too, not to scare you too much, ha. In my thinking to just be there on a hot August day could really suit what you need and make good change. Maybe you don’t like hot sunshine, really?

I have had the great chance; yeah me myself, ha, and found pieces made by names folks talk and know. It’s almost for fair, you almost can’t scam tickets, to walk slowly through this great place. To halt there for a bit to just see works you could or could never see! Gosh that rings my own chimes does it now indeed.

5. Boston Harbor Islands: A Quick Escape to Nature

Boston Harbor Islands august

Okay so maybe an island rings like your sort of song right now does it indeed? What, close, very nearly from the city that? Yes sir or madam there they stand to the wind! Boston Harbor Islands; like the sound? Many bits there from some good old wars; for just maybe old Fort Warren there might show something there to think on for a bit. Hiking ways are long out there if, that really that suits you; a path just to get wind burnt or let air kiss you for some hot bright hours, it might sound kind of grand in a way so I think, right?

Think about all those birds and the light dancing from ocean waters so as well as just seeing the city get small back that a ferry will be taking you back from? Pack well, that’s some right proper insight; good for walking in or maybe even swimming there; but yeah don’t throw rubbish! Check when those boat sails so as to be ready or that day runs flat, because in fact no folk wish you sad at end from that right. So yeah just right if your thing it seems to be so for islands close by to go to and see a very little small jaunt it might be too. Remember, that a sunny break may just well happen for most of that month right?
