Checking out the Texas State Capitol is so like, totally a must when you’re hanging out in downtown Austin, it’s almost hard to miss! It’s really bigger than the U.S. Capitol building, isn’t it very Texas? Tours are something that’s free and actually give you that look into Texas history and government, but strolling around the grounds is something else too state capitol tour. Take a Dip in Barton Springs Pool

When the Texas heat hits, Barton Springs Pool is really where it’s at, it’s almost a natural escape right in the middle of the city! This naturally fed pool is that constant 68 degrees, so that’s quite refreshing year-round. You can just take a swim, relax on the grassy banks, but you know, just soak up that Austin vibe swimming in Austin. It gets really crowded during the summer, that’s for sure, so you too should get there early!

Wander Through Zilker Park

Zilker Park is something that’s basically Austin’s playground, and it’s right next to downtown, so that’s nice! This very huge green space is something that has pretty much everything: trails, gardens, and even that Zilker Botanical Garden, but is that something up your street? You could rent a kayak or paddleboard on Lady Bird Lake; just go to the park to chill out; so yeah, just whatever strikes your fancy kayaking in Austin. Keep an eye out for events and festivals, so there’s basically something always happening.

Just a short trip from downtown, South Congress, is something that is like, an iconic Austin street you should know! SoCo is known for that funky vibe, shops, restaurants, isn’t that so exciting? You might want to take photos at the “I love you so much” mural, you know, that is a very instagrammable spot, it’s almost something you should tick off of your list, but you also just look through the unique stores, so yeah, basically grab some food from the food trucks unique shops Austin. It’s actually really the perfect place to get a sense of Austin’s cool, weird vibe.

Visit the Contemporary Austin – Jones Center

If you’re an art lover, The Contemporary Austin – Jones Center is very much worth checking out, that’s just my personal take! Right there in the center of downtown, it really shows very thought-provoking exhibits, yet some art is interesting. The rooftop views of downtown are pretty awesome, isn’t that a good photo spot?
