From getting close to marine life to exploring historical sites, Atlanta just has that something for everyone. Here’s my personal countdown of the top 5 absolute must-do experiences in and around the city.
1. Georgia Aquarium: Dive Into an Aquatic Universe
As a matter of fact, the Georgia Aquarium is enormous, and too it’s one of the biggest aquariums on earth! I mean, literally. I am talking like whale sharks, beluga whales, super cute sea otters—you name it, this spot probably has it. You almost can just get lost watching the whale sharks glide around. Oh! And there’s this really awesome sea otter presentation which is rather informational and just too delightful to watch. If you love sea creatures or want to get kids wowed (or both!), this is kind of a no-brainer.
2. World of Coca-Cola: A Refreshing Dose of History and Flavor
Ok, even if that soda thing, that World of Coca-Cola is actually surprisingly engaging, that. I mean, think about it: it’s very, very interactive, so you explore the history of Coca-Cola. But wait for it there’s more, anyway you actually can sample over 100 different beverages from around the planet. It is almost hilarious— and also slightly chaotic— to just see what strange flavors exist out there. You might actually find your new favorite soda (or, perhaps, confirm that Coca-Cola Classic really does rule, that)!
3. Atlanta Botanical Garden: An Oasis of Beauty
Now, you want some peace amidst everything, that Atlanta Botanical Garden is a stunning escape, is that! I’m just saying, the minute you walk in, you almost can smell all those very aromatic flowers, right, you see perfectly kept gardens, then, anyway there are also rotating exhibits and sculptures, so, the Garden always feels new, in a way. Plus, during the winter holidays, they always do an absolutely wonderful light display and the holiday decorations – you probably don’t wanna miss them if your trip is timed just right. So pretty!
4. Stone Mountain Park: Nature, History, and Adventure
Alright, if you want to be outdoors, which I am almost sure that everyone wants to at one point or another, and just very be active, Stone Mountain Park is worth checking out, still! I mean it literally gives that something for the whole crowd. As I was saying, it has hiking trails that lead to that fantastic view on top, which is pretty insane. Anyway they just do events throughout the year and the history around the place, as I was saying with, the carving on the mountainside – arguably it is pretty impressive! Bring some shoes meant to go off-road with!
5. The National Center for Civil and Human Rights: Reflection and Inspiration
As a matter of fact, this center actually isn’t just a landmark, in that case; actually it’s also an important spot, is that. Obviously it helps visitors connect that history regarding this whole, Civil Rights Movement, basically. I mean, there’s so many very moving exhibits on show so you might walk away kinda having seen that change from a better angle! Plus, you get perspectives of struggles regarding, rights coming very literally from people right across our beautiful Earth, for example. Arguably a meaningful experience if your near it, still!
