The event, which is jointly organised by the Tamparuli and Kiulu Assemblyman Offices, would see participants running uphill, cycling, crossing rivers, slingshot shooting and doing merampanau (walking on bamboo stilts) to cover an overall distance of 30-40km."The merampanau event was introduced to promote traditional games to the participants," said organising spokesman, Steve Datuk Johnny Mositun, yesterday. He also revealed several new challenges that newcomers would contest namely the Ride for the Nature and Fun Run events, which require participants to dress up as creative as possible for the run."This is aimed at generating awareness about the environment and the beauty of Tamparuli such as its clean river and green forest," Steve said.
