Chinese New Year

   Chinese New Year is one the festival held in Malaysia yearly by the Chinese community. The festival begins on the first day full moon in the traditional Chinese calendar and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day after the full moon.

   The festival is considered an important for the chinese community as they believes that this celebration will bring them good luck in their future endeavue. Prior to the festival, most chinese will clean their home or office as to clear the bad luck of the preceding year. They will also decorate their house with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of "good fortune" or "happiness", "wealth", and "longevity". During the festival they will wish "Gong Xi Fa Cai" among themselves and the night eve, they will have gather within the family member for dinner. "Gong Xi Fa Chai", literally translate it would mean "wishing you enlarge your wealth." This festival is for the chinese to appreciate and thankgiving among the family member, friends or employee. During the eighth day of Chinese New Year, Lion Dance start made available and will visit from one place to another.
